Get Together Party on Mother's Day

It was Mother's Day yesterday and we had a get together party here in our house. My friend Ging-Ging and her hubby Craig of Maryland came by here together with their friends Josephine and Jeffrey and there daughter. Ging and Craig drove all the way from San Antonio to Dallas to our place in Wichita Falls. It's a long drive back and forth. Ann and I cooked the foods. Ann cooked pork and chicken adobo and sinigang na bangus and I cooked pancit, lumpia, meatloaf and pecan pie. My hubby made banana pudding. We invited our friends Arlene and Raul and they brought fruit salad, ripe mangoes, native cake and they also gave me some groceries. What a blessing! James and Sofia were still in the house and we really had a blast. We had a good time being with them and my hubby and I were so glad to meet them all. This is the second time that I met Ging and Craig and it's my first time to meet Josie and Jeffrey and their daughter. They are very nice couple and I really like them. Their daughter is a cutie. It's my hubby's first time to meet the 2 said couples and he was really impress with them. He said he had a good talk to Craig and Jeffrey and he really likes them. We really had a blast yesterday and it's been a good celebration of Mother's Day with all the Filipino foods that we had. We're looking forward to have Ging and Craig here again in a couple of months with Jeffrey and Josie and of course Ann and Jeff. Here are some photos that we took. I'll post more in my friendster profile.

Prayers, Prayers and More Prayers

It's been a while since I updated this blog. I've been preoccupied with some things especially regarding my sister Violy's health condition right now. My hubby and I have been in deep prayers for her healing. Everyday I cried out my heart to God to do a healing miracle for her. To all my blog readers, please continue to include Violy in your prayers as she battles the big C. She needs prayer warriors as she face this big trial in her life. If a lot of people will pray for her healing, God's hands will be moved. I believe that nothing is impossible with God. He has healed me of the big C and I believe in my heart that by faith and prayers, He will do the same to my sister. We serve a big God and nothing is too difficult for Him.

My Sister Needs Prayers

To all my blog readers, I'm asking you to please pray for my sister Violy. She has a lump in her breast and it's inflame. It grew so quick and when she went to the doctor for biopsy, they pricked the lump to get a specimen for biopsy. When she went to get the result, it came out that they're not sure what it is. I was wondering what kind of biopsy was that, why they're not sure. My brother said it's a boil because pus is coming out and Violy said it's so painful. I already requested our church to pray for her and also I called The 700 Club and other ministries to pray for my dear sister. She's now in our church prayer list. Violy needs a lot of prayer warriors to pray in her behalf. We have a breast cancer history in our family and I don't want her to be a victim too. I was talking to her this morning in the webcam and I saw in her face that she's worried. I prayed for her online while talking with her in the webcam. I cast out and rebuked the spirit of lump in her breast and I commanded it to leave in the name of Jesus. I also rebuked the spirit of fear to leave her body. I asked Jesus to give her peace that surpasses understanding. I know how she feels because I've been through it many years ago. But Jesus healed me of the big C. Please pray for Violy. She's planning to undergo surgery to remove the lump. She needs your prayers badly. Pray that the lump in her breast be healed and it's not malignant. Miracles happen when we pray. Below is my sister's photo with her family.Myfamily001page2

My Interview Is Scheduled

I got mail yesterday from the USCIS and guess what? My interview for my citizenship is scheduled on June 18. I didn't expect it to be that soon. I just had my finger prints re-taken last April 15 and in less than 2 weeks, here comes their mail for my interview schedule. I thought the CIS is backlogged because last year before their fees skyrocketed, a lot of people filed for their citizenship. I've been praying to God that my application will be processed soon. My passport will expire next month and I will wait for my citizenship to be done before I will get a US passport. Then we will go back to the Philippines, God's willing. We have our plans to work for the Lord there and my hubby and I have been praying about it. The Lord knows our hearts' desire and we just cling to His promises. "All things work together for good, to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28. I need to review for the interview and I pray that I will pass it.

Vicks Vaporub - This Is Amazing

I read an article about rubbing Vicks Vaporub in your soles at night before sleeping to prevent cough. A couple of nights ago, my hubby had been coughing and can't sleep. I remember about the Vicks Vaporub so I rubbed it to my hubby's soles and put on his socks and afterwards he fell asleep and only coughed once in a while. I tell you it's effective.

Here's the article that I read:

During a lecture on Essential Oils, they told us how the foot soles can absorb oils. Their example: Put garlic on your feet and within 20 minutes you can 'taste' it.Some of us have used Vicks Vaporub for years for everything from chapped lips to sore toes and many body parts in between. But I've never heard of this. And don't laugh, it works 100% of the time, although the scientists who discovered it aren't sure why. To stop night time coughing in a child (or adult as we found out personally), put Vicks Vaporub generously on the bottom of the feet at bedtime, then cover with socks. Even persistent, heavy, deep coughing will stop in about 5 minutes and stay stopped for many, many hours of relief. Works 100% of the time and is more effective in children than even very strong prescription cough medicines. In addition it is extremely soothing and comforting and they will sleep soundly. Just happened to tune in A.M. radio and picked up this guy talking about why cough medicines in kids often do more harm than good, due to the chemical makeup of these strong drugs so, I listened. It was a surprise finding and found to be more effective than prescribed medicines for children at bedtime, in addition to have a soothing and calming effect on sick children who then went on to sleep soundly. My wife tried it on herself when she had a very deep constant and persistent cough a few weeks ago and it worked 100%! She said that it felt like a warm blanket had enveloped her, coughing stopped in a few minutes and believe me, this was a deep, (incredibly annoying!) every few seconds uncontrollable cough, and she slept cough-free for hours every night that she used it. If you have grandchildren, pass this on. If you end up sick, try it yourself and you will be absolutely amazed at how it works

Why Do You Need Water?

Every day your body loses water through urine and sweat, and this fluid needs to be replenished. Fortunately, your body is already equipped with a virtually foolproof mechanism that tells you when you need to replenish your water supply -- it’s called thirst!

You can actually survive without food for months, but without water you’d die after a few days, so needless to say, water is absolutely essential to life.

Your body is made up mostly of water, which:

  • Is essential for digestion, nutrient absorption and elimination
  • Aids your circulation
  • Helps control your body's temperature
  • Lubricates and cushions your joints
  • Keeps your skin healthy
  • Helps remove toxins from your body

But do you need to drink at least eight eight-ounce glasses of water a day?

That’s the recommendation we’ve all been traditionally told. The article above is actually not offering proof that this recommendation is wrong, per se. It’s simply a review of the available research on water’s ability to improve your health when ingested in larger amounts, such as 8 glasses a day or more.

Its conclusion that increased water intake has no discernible health benefits might be a bit misleading, however.

For example, the research on water intake and reduction in migraine headaches showed that 15 patients with migraines, who were assigned to increase their water intake for two weeks, had 21 hours less migraines compared to the control group. However, the difference was not considered to be statistically significant. If you suffer from migraines, you might disagree…

My New Look

I got tired with my hair covering my face if I don't wear a hair clip so I decided to cut my hair and have a bangs. I used to have a bangs all my life but I changed my hair style a couple of years ago and I let my bangs grew. Now I got tired of it and cut it and have my bangs back. I asked my hubby what he thinks of my new hair style and he told me I look better with bangs. I'm glad he likes it. Lis08

Not Feeling Well

My hubby is not feeling since yesterday. He called in sick yesterday and so he stayed at home and rested. When I woke up this morning, he was gone and went to work but at around 9:00 AM he was home. I asked him what's wrong and he told me he still don't feel well. He has a fever, cough, stomach trouble and no appetite to eat. I also have a sore throat and my voice is hoarse and I can hardly talk. I don't know where did we get the virus but we pray that the Lord will heal us both soon. Hubby bought some over the counter drugs for me and for him. Right now he is at the living room resting and watching tv.

At The Park

Every time we stop by at the park in Burleson to use the restroom, I can't resist taking pictures in the park. That park is so clean and sometimes a lot of people are having picnics there. The trees are so green now and also the lawn. It's the best season of the year. I lost count of how many times we took pics in that park. I will just post one here. I posted the rest in My Online Journal.

Creation Seminar

It's been almost two weeks since we had the Creation Seminar in our church. Our speaker Dr. Patrick Briney talked about creation insights, evolution, science, species and a lot more. Though some of the subjects he talked about I can hardly comprehend, one thing is for sure, that man was created by God and didn't come from apes. The world and everything in it was created by God and evolutionist should wake up and face the truth. Here are souvenir photos with Dr. Pat Briney.

Get Together Party

We had a get together party at Shiela's house this afternoon. She invited her friends and we had a grand time eating the foods that she cooked like, barbecue, hotdogs, fried chicken, pinakbet, pancit, menudo, tinolang manok, ukoy, sausage, fried tilapia, bitsu-bitso, ginataan and some friends brought chop suey and some noodle recipe with shrimp. Shiela cooked a lot of foods all by herself. When hubby and I arrived in their house at 3:00PM, she was still cooking the beef barbecue. I was really impressed with her cooking prowess. She's a super cook! After eating, most of us took home the foods that were left. That's Pinoy style. I had a bag of foods when we went home. Hubby and I were really full tonight.

My Li'l Sister

I tried to get up earlier this morning and went online. I wanted to chat with my family in the Philippines. It was past 9:00 AM here and it's past 10 PM there. Most of them were already asleep except my sister Violy  and her hubby. I talked to her for more than an hour and we saw each other in the webcam. She told me that she uploaded some of their photos in her friendster. I browsed her photos that she uploaded and I've seen the photos of her 2 boys when they received awards and medal during their closing exercises in their school. I took photos of my sister in the webcam using Skype. I miss her very much. She's the only sister I got and we're so close to each other. My siblings and I have a very close family tie. We love and support each other in every way we can.

Nursing School

Nursing course is very in demand  here in the US. This country needs a lot of  nurses to work and take care of the patients. They are even hiring nurses from other countries like the Philippines. My youngest step-daughter had been wanting to get a nursing course but until now she haven't finish it yet. I know that some people out there wants to take up cna courses to be able to work in a hospital, nursing home or assisted living homes. You can also get a higher salary if you had finished cna training. If you intend to be a CNA in the US, just browse medicalcareertraining.com and you will find there all the cna schools where you can enroll and get that training that you need.

My Beloved Aunt

My siblings and I call her auntie Aning. She's the only sister of my late mom and she's our second mom. She took care of us when our mom passed away. She cooked for us, buy groceries, do the dishes  and  give us motherly love. She did not marry and she devoted her life taking care of our grandma and us. When we were studying in college and we needed money for our tuition fees, she went to our neighbors and borrowed money so we can take the exams. When I was sick and fighting the big C, she was my prayer warrior. She went with me in my therapies. When I got married and my hubby was there in our house in the Philippines, she cooked for us our favorite foods. She always cooked for my hubby adobong pusit when she learned that George like it. Whatever my hubby loves to eat, she cooked it very often. I really miss her cooking when I was already here in the US. Four and a half years had passed since I've been here and my auntie Aning is now forgetful. She can hardly remember my name now. I cried when I learned about it and I told it to my hubby. She's 76 years old but she's still strong. Only, senility sets in with her. She can't remember my hubby's name too. Also, they don't let her cook now because she burns the rice whenever she cooks. She forget that she's cooking. I talked to her and we saw each other in the webcam a few days ago. I really miss her so much. She always asked me everytime I talked to her when am I going back there. She also miss me. Oh, I pray to God to make our plans come true so we can go back there soon and see my aunt and my siblings. I always tell my siblings to take care of our aunt because she is already old and she needs TLC and understanding. She took care of us and it's our turn to take care of her too now that she's old. I love my auntie Aning and I really miss her a lot. My hubby miss her too.

Technical School

We all know that we're now living in the world of high technology. With all the latest in electronics and computers, there's no doubt about it. I just wish I could go to a technical school and gain more knowledge about computer programming and the internet. I was just browsing the net when I came across this site where I can find tech schools to get the right training. I guess this is needed to gain more knowledge in the field of computer courses. They offer it training in all their schools in the country.

Where There's A Will, There's A Way

I kept laughing by myself after I read this story. This is really funny and I'm sure you will laugh too after you read it.

Bubba During Lent...

Each Friday night after work, Bubba would fire up his outdoor
grill and cook a venison steak. But all of Bubba's neighbors were
Catholic....And since it was Lent, they were forbidden from eating meat on
Friday.

The delicious aroma from the grilled venison steaks was causing
such a problem for the Catholic faithful that they finally talked to
their priest. The Priest came to visit Bubba, and suggested that he
become a Catholic.

After several classes and much study, Bubba attended
Mass.....and as the priest sprinkled holy water over him, he said, "You
were born a Baptist, and raised a Baptist, but now you are a Catholic."

Bubba's neighbors were greatly relieved, until Friday night
arrived, and the wonderful aroma of grilled venison filled the
neighborhoo d. The Priest was called immediately by the neighbors.
As he rushed into Bubba's yard clutching a rosary and preparing to scold
him, he stopped and watched in amazement.

There stood Bubba, clutching a small bottle of holy water, which he
carefully sprinkled over the grilling meat, and chanting: "You wuz born a
deer, you wuz raised a deer, but now you is a catfish."

Medical Careers

Medical jobs has high demands here in the US. Many medical professionals from overseas are coming here to seek greener pastures. Maybe it's about time that people here in this country should go in to medical careers like becoming an ultrasound technologist or sonographer. There's a site where you can find an ultrasound tech school in different states in the country. Be a sonographer and you can do the job of viewing a fetus in the womb. Just browse the site and then enroll in their ultrasound technician school and get the medical training that you need for your chosen career.

Appointment Re-scheduled

I got a mail today from the USCIS informing me that my fingerprints appointment is on April 15. I was already wondering when I got their previous mail stating there that my appointment is April 5 and it falls on a Saturday. I asked my hubby if they are open on the weekends. I know that federal offices are close on the weekends. Another error from them? Instead of April 15 they wrote April 5 in their previous mail? The time is the same though 8:00 AM. Hubby and I are supposed to leave this afternoon to go to Alvarado but we canceled it now because of the change of schedule. It's good the mail arrived on time.

I'm so glad because hubby and I will be able to attend the Creation Seminar in our church tonight, tomorrow morning and on Sunday. All things work together for good to those who love God...

Kitchen Makeover

I'm not really very fond of scented candles. I have some in the house but they were given to me as a gift last Christmas. Instead, I prefer using electric scented oil air fresheners in our house because it gives that good smell around our house. I put one in our living room and also in the bedrooms. Whenever I enter the house, I can smell the aroma coming from the electric scented oil. It makes me feel good and relax.

Since we moved to this house, we already did some minor improvements. But since this is an old house, the cabinets in our kitchen needs to be replaced and also the counter top. The hinges in our cabinets are already coming off and rusty. The paint is already very thick and I can hardly close and open the drawers. It really needs a total makeover. But the problem is we can't afford it right now. I was glad to see this site where I can have the chance to win $20,000 from Renuzit TriScents in their Transform Your Home promotion. Boy, These would be the fulfillment of my kitchen makeover dream if I win these contest! All I need to do is to register, then upload a video or photo and essay showing them my home, why I need a home makeover and how Renuzit® TriScents can help. Anybody can participate. Just Be sure to follow the official rules posted in their site.

Travel Today

We'll be going to Alvarado this afternoon when hubby gets off from work. My appointment for fingerprints at the USCIS will be tomorrow at 8:00 AM. I have to wake up early tomorrow and it's a 25 minutes drive from Alvarado to Fort Worth. If only it's the same distance from here then we will just be driving tomorrow. Anyways, I hope and pray that the outcome of my fingerprints this time will be alright.

Xray Technician School

It really fascinates me how they do x-rays, MRIs, and other imaging technologies. We're living in a high technology world. If you are interested to become an x-ray technician, you need to check out this site where you can find the schools that offer the said course. Becoming an X-ray Technician requires extensive knowledge of both anatomy and imaging technology. You need a good school to get your education to prepare you for the job. Visit Medical Career Training and find the school where you would get the proper training.

Venison

One of our friends in the church gave us venison last Saturday. This was the 3rd time that he gave us deer meat, about 9 lbs. I cooked venison stew yesterday and it was so delicious. I love venison because it has only little fats and deers are free range animals. They were not given antibiotics or growth hormones. Next time I will cook venison steak. Our friend said, when we run out of venison, we can ask him again. We're planning to go with him to his ranch and see all those animals that are in there, like deers, turkeys and hogs.

Bad Credit Loans & Credit Cards

A lot of people use their credit cards unwisely. They buy unimportant things until they max out their credit card. When their bills arrive they can't afford to pay it and it results to bad credit history. Well, this is the result of living beyond their means, bad credit. People with poor credit often find it difficult to be approved for a regular credit card. It's good there's one website that offers bad credit credit cards to people with bad credit history. They have the right cards for people with low credit score, limited credit history and those people looking to get their credit back on track. Consumers can apply for the offer that's right for them. No matter what your credit history is, you still can apply online in their website. They also offer bad credit loans for those people in need . They give you a chance to stand on your feet again.

Another Appointment

Hubby and I will be going to Fort Worth again this weekend. The INS had notified me that my fingerprints that they took a couple of weeks ago could not be processed by the FBI. I don't know what was wrong but all I could remember was that when that guy was taking my fingerprints in one of my fingers, it appeared in the computer that it was poorly taken. I asked the guy if he's going to repeat it but he said it's okay. So maybe that was the reason, I'm not really sure. I hope and pray that all will be well after the second time that they gonna take my fingerprints. I just feel bad because hubby and I will miss the Creation Seminar in our church which will start on Friday until Sunday. We'll try to attend the last day of the seminar.

Engagement Rings

They say that diamonds are forever and they're so attractive and glittery. Four years ago, my hubby gave me a diamond ring for Valentine's Day. I was so happy because I never owned a diamond in my life. That was my first diamond jewelry that I owned and it came from my beloved hubby but unfortunately it was stolen. I've been requesting my hubby to replace my diamond ring and buy me another one. I just stumbled upon this site that sells diamond rings online. They have different styles and designs and they are so beautiful. They have a wide range of engagement rings, wedding and anniversary diamond jewelries. The site's design is really cool and they offer technical support and the site is secure if you purchase their product. I have to tell my hubby about this store. I have to request him that if he will buy me a diamond ring, he should buy it in this online store.

Songfest

It's the 5th Sunday of the month today and as usual, we had songfest and preachfest in our church this afternoon. It started at 5:00 PM.  I enjoyed listening to the  songs and preaching of the participants. My hubby did not preach though. He was not ready. Maybe next time. After the program, we had dinner at the dining hall. The ladies in the church brought foods. I brought German chocolate cupcakes which I baked right after hubby and I had our lunch. I topped it with coconut pecan frosting. It was good. We had good foods and we all enjoyed eating. I got full so does my hubby. Before we went home we took photos outside our church with our Taiwanese friend Jeannie. Dscn2286
